There are few people you can trust as much as a dog...

"Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let
those few be well tried before you give them your confidence."

Freya

Queen Freya

Freya, pronounced Fray Ya, is a Norwegian Elkhound. Her species used to be called Elghund. The word for moose in Norwegian is Elg and the word for dog is hund. They date back to the time when Vikings used them to hunt moose. Freya doesn't hunt moose. She spends a lot of her time hunting attention - and she gets it! She will love you forever if you give her a rawhide strip. That is her favorite treat.

We are leaving this page in memory of Freya who passed away at the ripe old age of 13. We miss her terribly but we are glad for the time we had with her and the joy she brought into our lives.

We now have another baby girl who wandered onto our back deck and into our hearts. Little Pita is our pride and joy now. If you would like to read her story, how she showed up starving and very much abused, Click Here
