Maintaining the heating system

Circulation of heated air is very important to avoid condensation. Homes are usually equipped with a thermostatically controlled furnace on a central heating system with adjustable registers in every room.

Filters are usually changed or cleaned annually - if your system has one. If debris has fallen down the floor vents it is a good idea to pull the top off the vent and clean it out, usually with a vacuum cleaner.

Maintenance of your heating system will depend on whether it is electric, oil, or gas. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for information on the adjustment, operation and maintenance of your system.
