Barren County Regional Farmers' Market Participation Agreement


The Barren County Regional Farmers' Market is located at the Glasgow Health Dept. 318 W Washington --- Glasgow, KY Open Tuesdays and Fridays - 8:00 am till 1:00 pm

2. Participants in the FMNPs must sell only Kentucky Grown produce, and must grow at least 50% of the produce themselves. They cannot sell produce exclusively from another source. Any grower in the state may participate. Vendors may purchase goods from other growers in the state, but they must be grown in Kentucky. You must keep records and receipts of all purchases from another grower and present them upon request. When in the FMNP, vendors are expected, by the state and the market, to be there during the hours posted on the KDA website and stated above to allow persons to redeem their vouchers at the times advertised as much as possible. You may only accept vouchers at the market where you are registered to do so. Anyone found, by the state, to be taking vouchers illegally will be expelled from the market. All other FMNP rules will be followed as well.

3. Membership is FREE. There are no annual dues or members' fees, however, anyone selling at the market must fill out a membership application and agree to abide by the rules. If there is a need to purchase an ad or something else for the market, money will be taken up for that from all the members. Spaces are assigned according to seniority. If someone resigns and their space becomes available, the next person in line will be allowed first choice.

4. Participants are responsible for daily cleanup of the market and parking area. All pets must be under control at all times. This also applies to customers, too, as it is the law. No live animals are to be sold.

5.No flea market type items are permitted to be sold unless approved by the board. Arts and crafts that have been made in Kentucky, are permitted.

6. Products should be clean and GAP procedures used to ensure quality and reduce contamination of all products.

7. The market opens at 8:00 am on both days. Sales may start before that time IF everyone present agrees it is ok, to assure fairness to all Vendors and Patrons. All participants must provide their own tables and if desired, a canopy.


Article I Section 1. The business and affairs of market shall be managed by the Market's Board of Directors. All board members must be a member in good standing.

Section 2. All directors on the board shall be elected by the regular members. The number of directors shall be four: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Section 3. All office holders will hold their office for one (1) year.

Section 4. A director may resign their term by giving written notice to the President. Resignations shall be effective within 30 days of presentation. Vacancies may be filled by the Market Board as an interim term.

Article II Section 1. Duties of the President: Preside over all meetings
Perform all acts and duties usually performed by an executive and presiding officer

Section 2. Duties of the Vice President: Assist the President and, in the absence or disability of the President, the Vice President shall perform the duties of the President.

Section 3. Duties of the Secretary:
Keep a complete record of all meetings
Keep a list of all members in good standing
Perform any other duties associated with the duties of a secretary
Have a general charge and supervision of the books and the records of the market

Duties of the Treasurer: Have a financial report available on request

Article III Section 1. Eligibility for membership: Any grower, artisan or craftsman in the State of Kentucky is eligible.

Section 2. Suspension or Expulsion of Member: The Market's Board of Directors, by affirmative vote of 3/4 of the Board, may for good cause suspend, for a fixed period of time or expel a member, after an adversary hearing. Any member has the right to notice before such action is taken against them. Cause shall be determined to include: Failure to submit to or abide by any decisions made by the Market's Board of Directors, or to accept the ruling of the membership; Failure to adhere to the market rules held within this agreement.

Section 3. The market board, by a 3/4 majority vote, retains the right to reject the application of anyone for whatever reason they see fit.
