Adding a second story on a manufactured or modular home.

Adding a second story to a manufactured home that was not built to be a 2 story would probably mean strengthening the walls and the ceiling/roof as well as adding additional support in the basement.
A lot depends on where you live and your local building codes.
You would also need someone who knows how a manufactured home is built in order to add a second story.
As a general rule, in most states, the costs to do such an undertaking is prohibitive. Most people who want more room will add on rooms to the sides and ends which may not work for you if your property is not large enough.
